Yesterday the University Degree show fund raising team put on an event to raise money to fund our exhibition. This was at Live Rooms Chester, where 4 different acts from the University performing there were 2 solo artists and 2 bands all together. Both solo acts performed with a guitar and there vocals a set around 30 minutes long. It was interesting to hear just the performer there instrument through the speakers, giving atmosphere a subtle comparison.
In between the solo acts were the groups, both groups were complete opposites which was nice to see the difference in range. First group up were a jazz band bring in instruments found in modern and contemporary bands together. There were brass instruments along side singers, guitarists and drummers, it was interesting to see how they'll fit together as one whole group. The final group where on the music course at Chester University and were very professional when performing.
This last group performed for just under an hour with a variety of music from many different genres pop, r&b, indie & rock. All together this band performed as a group playing to each others strengths and weaknesses. All performances were so unique so was nice to compare the difference in professions overall.
The venue in itself was interesting as they still used and had many posters around there corridors, here is a photo I got when I was there:

As you can see all posters have a different graphic take, most include some imagery style combine with information about the upcoming act. First thing I notice at glance of this photo is all the red highlighting as its very striking and informing. However because there is a lot of read and black tones in this image the poster advertising Roachford is very noticeable as it the only poster using a blue colour.
