Some Things Editorial

Final result of Somethings Editorial, repetitive fruit booklet.

This booklet combines patterns you may recognise as the inside of fruit, however manipulates and interprets them into a new shape. Some of the patterns are easily seen as the fruit some are not.

To get to these shapes I split each fruit pattern into 3 different parts together overlaying giving off the correct pattern outcome for the individual fruit. I gave each 3 parts a different colour, and experimented with flipping and extracting other patterns mixing up the fruit. To do this all 3 patterns for each fruit were made into black and white, and put through the photocopier. Using the photocopier allowed me to change the colour creating endless options for the fruit.

This experiment was really interesting, as I never knew what the outcome was gonna be. The outcomes were different than what they would have been printed normally, Using the photocopier created a slightly embossed feel when you looked close at the booklet.
